What's Opening

A different kind of housing — built around its members.

Old Town Cooperative isn't a development company or a rental complex. It's a community we're building together. Members buy a share, occupy a home, and share in how the cooperative is run — for the long term.

Own a share, not a lease

Members purchase an equity share in the cooperative. Your share grants you the right to occupy your home — and a real vote in how the community is run.

Renovated, ready-to-live homes

Updated kitchens with new appliances, LVP flooring, fresh paint, and modernized baths across every charter home.

Predictable monthly costs

One monthly carrying charge covers your unit, taxes, and shared maintenance. No surprise rent hikes — members vote on the annual budget.

The Vision

We're building more than a building.

Old Town has always had character. What it's been missing is housing that lets the people who love this neighborhood stay in it — without fighting another rent increase or watching landlords change every three years.

The cooperative answers that. By the people who live here, for the long haul, with the kind of slow, steady stewardship that turns a building into a neighborhood landmark.

Common Questions

Curious how it works?

What does it cost to become a member?
Founding members purchase a share in the cooperative. The share price and monthly carrying charge depend on the home you choose — full numbers are shared during the application conversation. Founding members receive a 10% discount on the initial share buy-in.
How is a cooperative different from renting?
As a member, you own a share in the cooperative that owns the buildings — not a lease. You get the right to occupy your home, a vote in how the cooperative is run, and predictable carrying charges set annually by the members themselves.
Can I sell my share if I move?
Yes. Members can transfer or sell their share according to the cooperative's bylaws. The process is structured to keep the community stable and member-owned over time.
When can I move in?
First move-ins begin in Fall 2026. The exact date for your home depends on where it falls in the renovation schedule, which is confirmed once your application is accepted.
